Brand Story. Lamberty Munich

Tradition Meets Zeitgeist

Lamberty Munich creates expressive scarves in silk and wool for people and boutiques drawn to the exceptional. Each piece carries an unmistakable signature and is made to the most exacting standards of craft.

Our brand unites two compelling worlds. On one side lies a deep attachment to Munich and to British tradition. On the other beats the bold, modern spirit of London, one of the great capitals of fashion. Every collection moves freely between these influences and is completed in Italy by master craftspeople.

  • Bavarian tradition. Alpine flora such as the delicate edelweiss, and traditional ornament, reinterpreted with elegance for the present day.

  • London high fashion. Bold prints, animal looks, maritime worlds and graphic elements that give our scarves their unconventional character, always attuned to the moment.

Munich Soul, London Edge. How Opposites Shaped an Identity

Jowita, the creative soul of our brand, was born with a pencil in her hand. Her path led her to London to study art and design, followed by formative years with renowned makers of fashion and accessories. Her striking patterns and designs have appeared at respected names including John Lewis, Miu Miu, Cath Kidston and Sara Miller. Yet after more than a decade in the British capital, a longing began to grow. She had tired of the transience of modern consumer culture and wanted to create something that would last. Wearable works of art, not to be replaced but to be treasured and passed on to the next generation.

When that wish could no longer be ignored, Jowita used the stillness of the pandemic to devote herself to designs of her own. After careful research, a first production partner was soon found in England. The first milestone was reached, and the journey from brushstroke to the purest silk had begun. But when the quality of that first production fell short of Jowita’s own uncompromising standards, a deliberate search for perfection followed. It led her to Como. In Italy’s historic capital of silk, she found manufacturers who shared her understanding of flawless craftsmanship.

Jowita designed her first collections under the label Katchmagic London, and as a tribute to our beginnings, selected collector’s pieces from the Katchmagic years return from time to time in strictly limited editions. That this became Lamberty Munich is owed to a personal encounter. In a Bavarian restaurant in the middle of London, she met her husband Thorsten. No author could have written it more beautifully. A Munich soul meets a German entrepreneur in the heart of the British capital. In that moment, the credo Munich Soul, London Edge came to life. From this bond grew a shared vision to leave fast fashion behind and to make textiles for generations.

On this foundation, the brand was launched in 2023. Our first customers found us through our own digital presence. Today Lamberty Munich has grown internationally and is presented on platforms such as Wolf & Badger, as well as in store at Flying Solo in New York.

The Heart of Our Work. From Brushstroke to Silk

Every one of our designs begins as an original painted by hand. In our creative studios in Munich and Luxembourg, each design takes shape over weeks, and sometimes months, of patient detail. Through thorough research, classical painting, fine illustration and careful digital refinement, Jowita develops motifs that are far more than a pattern. They tell stories.

Craftsmanship from Como & Responsibility in Practice

A design only comes into its own through the material that carries it. Our partner workshops in Como look back on a history of more than forty years. They work exclusively with exquisite AAA+ / 6A silk and attend to every stage of the process with the utmost care. From raw fabric to traditional textile printing, experienced artisans ensure that the nuances of our colour worlds unfold in their full depth and radiance.

Responsibility You Can Feel.

For us as practising Christians, high standards in fashion and a deep ecological and humanitarian responsibility belong inseparably together. We see our work as a calling to protect and respect both people and nature. Depending on the ink system, the printing inks used in our production are backed by documentation for OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT, REACH, ZDHC MRSL and the GOTS requirements for colourants. Our manufacturers also guarantee us in writing fair working conditions and the strict exclusion of child labour.
